Narayana Guru wanted every aspect of his life to be put on record (mentioned in Vidyananda Swami's work Thrippadangalude oru yathra), by those either writing his biography or they themselves writing their own autobiographies.

LOKAM presents the often not-talked-about sorrowful story of the Guru here.

Sivagiri Yati Pooja - By Dr.P.K.Sabu

This short essay narrates the often not-talked-about and 'dark chapter' in the story of Narayana Guru. The undesirable incidents starting from the SNDP Yogam's opposition to the Guru's 'legal will and testament' bequeathing all the spiritual and real estate assets to the Guru's sanyasi disciples. After the Mahasamadhi of the Guru in 1928, the Yatipooja (ritual) on the 41st day was marred by a court ruling obtained by the SNDP Yogam restraining the assembly of mourners at Sivagiri.

In 2018, i.e. 90 years after the Guru's Mahasamadhi, the current sannyasi disciples of Narayana Guru's lineage at Sivagiri Mutt conducted a Yatipooja in lieu of the ritual that was due to be conducted in 1928. Whilst the recent Yatipooja was widely publicised, no entity came forward to explain the true sequence of historical events around 1928 that led to the disruption and subversion of the Yatipooja on the 41st day after the Mahasamadhi. Dr.P.K.Sabu tells us that untold story about events in the last days of the Guru's life and thereafter.
