Now in the beginning this (moving world) only existed composed of memory conditionings; (then) the Abundant One

Like a magician, by his own illusive relativity emanated the complete moving world.

Commentary

The Absolute is called Prabhu the Abundant One, who like a magician emanates this complete moving world. Jagat means moving as well as transitory, and hence the world is moving, transitory and subject to cyclic change. The Ajnavatara Tantra says this about the Absolute Goddess, "by Her mere wish the whole cosmos appears and disappears."

The emanation of the world is like the treat of a magic show. All eyes are on the tricks and nobody thinks of looking at the magician who is the cause. Likewise, the objects of the world dazzling the eyes and mind, appear, disappear and reappear. This magic treat is caused by the activity of the magician.

Memory conditionings imply that this is not the very first emanation, but one of many. All this happened before, and will happen again. In the Bhagavad Gita (IV.5) it is said: "Many are my past lives, as well as yours, Arjuna; These I fully know, you do not know, O Paramtapa."
