Kālī Nāṭaka by Narayana Guru is a long poem of 123 lines, without breaks, written in a style reminiscent of śyāmalā daṇḍakam of Kalidasa. The Goddess represents 'becoming', while Siva represents 'being' in the context of the Absolute. Nataraja Guru calls it the Dance-drama of the Eternal Feminine.

Vishvanatha is a student at the Bangalore Gurukula since 40 years, lives in Harohalli, near the Gurukula and has been very helpful with the Kannada translation works of Vinaya Chaitanya who served Nataraja Guru as head of the Narayana Gurukula Institute of Aesthetic Values in rural Bangalore.

Chaitanyamayi Amma of Narayana Gurukula, Bangalore shares her memories: “As I remember Vishvanatha, he used to come by cycle all the way from Jayanagar, Bangalore where he lived with his parents, his father was a school master. 'Vishva' as we called him was a double graduate young youth at that time, a special person with great devotion. He left home and stayed with us in the Gurukula looking after the cows and garden. The children took a great liking to him and slowly he became part of the Gurukula family. He sings devotional songs with a great inspiring voice. Later on he married, lives near by and visits the Gurukula helping in the garden still. It's a long long story, sad to cut short, but he is a wonderful human being.”
