Ātmopadeśa Śatakam ('One Hundred Verses of Self Instruction') is a Malayalam Upanishad equivalent spiritual literary work by Narayana Guru that is considered as the Guru's magnum opus of literary works. This is the text in which the Guru expounds his philosophy in its entirety.
Arulsree, who was introduced to the Narayana Gurukula at a very young age through her parents (K.V.Anandan and K.P.Sarojini) presents here the dhyanams (Meditation for 100 days) by Guru Nitya Chaitanya Yati. Arulsree was born and grew up in verdant and vibrant Tellicherry, Kerala. She loves to share her experiences and prayers she learnt being with Nataraja Guru, Guru Nitya Chaitanya Yati and Guru Muni Narayana Prasad. Arulsree pursued her Masters in Literature and loves to read Guru's works. She fondly remembers her days with Guru Nitya in Fernhill and Varkala, transcribing his divine thoughts into books. She wants to spread the wisdom of the Great Guru Narayana to inspire people to experience the bliss of life. She currently lives in Baroda with her husband and son.
The power of the Hundred Verses is summed up by Guru Nitya: “There is no need to learn each verse and then rationally apply it in everyday life. You can even hear it and forget it. Forgetting means it only goes deeper into you. Once you have heard it, it will go and work its way by itself. The effect will be very subtle. It comes almost without you knowing that it is something which you heard that is enabling you to see things in a new light or make resolutions in a certain more helpful way.”
